3 Indiana Pacers who need to perform better in December
3. Buddy Hield
As one of the Indiana Pacers’ go-to options on offense, Buddy Hield has been pretty reliable from the scoring department, averaging 17.1 points per game so far this season which is tied with Myles Turner for third-most on the team.
However, compared to his red-hot start to the season, Hield’s efficiency has taken a nosedive in November. From shooting 46.4 percent from the field and 42.7 percent on threes in October, the veteran sharpshooter has registered a lowly 39.7/33.3 shooting split from the same departments last month.
For a volume shooter with a bunch of designated offensive sets to cater to his strengths, those numbers are far from ideal. Reaching his level of shooting in the first month of the season may not be too probable given his voluminous shooting, especially from downtown, but as a career 39.8 percent shooter from three-point range, Hield has to be much better this month. Otherwise, he could risk losing his firm grip on the team’s starting unit.
