Gift No. 5: If nothing else, a lucky bounce of some ping pong balls next summer.

Perhaps many of these things fail to work out for the Pacers. Perhaps they don’t get the forward help that they need. Perhaps they start losing games and need to move off of their large veteran contracts in Buddy Hield and Myles Turner. Perhaps the injury bug comes to town and derails the big dreams that are currently emerging in the hearts of many Indiana Pacers fans.

In that case, the Pacers should be hopeful to have a lucky bounce of some ping-pong balls next summer. The incoming class of rookies may not only be generational, but an all-time list of prospects that the NBA has yet to truly see before. Players such as Victor Wembanyama and Scoot Henderson as being spoken of as future perennial all-star-level talents.

The Pacers have not often had much luck with the ping pong balls in the NBA lottery, often falling below their statistical most likely position in the draft. The Pacers’ holiday wish list should most certainly be asking for a bit of luck if they fall into the NBA lottery, which may still be likely even given the hot start to the season.

So what things do you think we missed on the Indiana Pacers’ wish list?
