Haliburton is the 3rd highest point guard in win shares behind Steph Curry and Luka Doncic, and the top point guard in the eastern conference.

Win shares are not a perfect metric, but they are generally indicative of how important a player is to their team. And to claim that Haliburton is the best point guard in the Eastern Conference, we must compare him to others in his position.

Currently, Tyrese is the third-highest point guard (7th overall) in the NBA in win shares. The only other two? Steph Curry (1st overall) and Luka Doncic (2nd overall), both of whom could bid for the best player in the NBA at the moment. Yet both of those point guards play in the western conference.

The next closest point guard from the eastern conference? Jalen Brunson of the New York Knicks at 14th overall. Thus there is a solid case to be made from this statistic that Tyrese could be the best point guard in the eastern conference.

However, win shares can be a bit of a flawed metric given it is dependent on several factors. Let’s take a look at a few other key metrics that prove that Tyrese Haliburton is the best point guard in the Eastern Conference.
