In yet another entry to the long and exhaustive list of conjured trade proposals involving the Indiana Pacers, one analyst hashed out a three-team trade involving the Blue and Gold in light of the recent Draymond Green turmoil.

On a recent episode of The Lowe Post podcast, Bill Simmons propounded a rather bizarre trade between the Pacers, the Los Angeles Lakers, and the Golden State Warriors, who are now at sixes and sevens and facing uncertainty despite Green publicly apologizing for the altercation.

However, the proposal is perhaps one of, if not the worst trade idea floated around since Indiana was a hot commodity on the rumor mill.

Bill Simmons suggests a bizarre three-team deal involving the Indiana Pacers

In this comical proposal, the Indiana Pacers receive Russell Westbrook from the Lakers, which will acquire Green while the Warriors get Myles Turner in return.

The outright lack of any compensatory element in this deal in any shape, way, or form already makes this an impossible deal. After all, the Pacers have made it abundantly clear that any trade scenario involving Westbrook being sent to the Circle City would come at a steep price through unprotected first-round picks (or in this case without Buddy Hield, a single first-rounder).

Hence, while the framework of this proposal makes contractual sense, given that all three are surefire flight risks as things currently stand, the very fact that Indiana is the one doing the favor blurs away any illusion of relative equality here.

Ultimately, it must be emphasized that Indiana will not be interested in transacting only for the sake of allowing narratives to completely be fleshed out. The defending champs may be in a bit of a disarray, but the Lakers’ attempt to turn the situation to their advantage will definitely not come at the expense of the Pacers.
