The Indiana Pacers open the season with a three-game home stand starting with the Washington Wizards on October 19th. After this three-game home stand, they go on a five-game road trip! This will be the longest stretch away from home all season.

Taking a look at the first month of the season, what will the Indiana Pacers’ record be at the end of October?

The Pacers have eight games in the first month and would like to get off to a hot start to begin the season. We all know that with a young team, there are going to be slip-ups. I think the Pacers will not have too bad of a first month.

Opening home stand to start the season

As I mentioned above Indiana’s first game of the year is against the Washington Wizards. I think that the young Pacers will come to play on opening night and steal one at home against Bradley Beal and the Wizards. They then face the San Antonio Spurs who are in a similar situation that the Pacers are in. They are young and looking to rebuild for the future.

I think the Pacers take this one convincingly behind a huge performance from Tyrese Haliburton and start the season off 2-0. In the last game of the home stand, they will take on the Detroit Pistons. They are a young team as well with a ton of firepower. I think the Pacers will drop this game and end the home stand at 2-1.

These will be close games for the most part against similar teams and are sure to be fun to watch. I am sure Gainbridge will be given a show in all three games by this young Indiana Pacers team.

The dreaded five-game road trip

This is no easy stretch of games that the Pacers have away from home. They start by going to Philadelphia to play the 76ers who are one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference. I think that the Pacers will drop this one as well. The 76ers have such a good roster that will give the Pacers fits. I’d say the 76ers when this one easily.

Next game, the Pacers travel to Chicago to play the division rival Bulls. This will be a close game, but I believe that the Pacers drop this game as well. Chicago has a great fan base and when the Pacers come to town, it seems like everyone comes to root the Bulls on. This will be a good game.

The Pacers will take on the Wizards again for the second time in less than a month. I believe that Indiana loses this game, as well, and will get off to an 0-3 start to the road trip. Finally, to end the road trip, the Pacers will stay in Brooklyn for a while as they play the Nets on October 29th and 31st. I think the Pacers will split these two games against the Nets.

With so many questions surrounding Kevin Durant, it is hard to gauge how these games will go. If he does not play, I think the Pacers win both games. I believe that he will play, so I will say they go 1-1 in Brooklyn.

After predicting the Pacers start 2-1, They run into a wall on the long road trip to start the season. I would love to say that the Pacers would go 8-0 in October. But, realistically, for this young of a team, there are going to be times when they lose several games.

I predict the record will be 3-5 to end the month of October. What do you think the Indiana Pacers’ record will be after the opening eight games? Next week, we will take a closer look at November for the Indiana Pacers.
