Keon Ellis showed flashes of two-way brilliance in the Summer League

Like the two players before him, Keon Ellis went undrafted in the 2022 NBA Draft, but similar to Lofton Jr., he also managed to quickly find a take for his services with the Sacramento Kings signing him to a two-way deal almost immediately after.

Lo and behold, the Alabama standout lived up to his calling as a two-way guard. He did not steal the spotlight in the scoring department, but his playmaking (4.8 dimes), three-point shot (3.3 made treys on 54.2 percent shooting), and defensive activity (2.3 steals) definitely stood out from many.

The Indiana Pacers will probably be satisfied with Andrew Nembhard and letting him grow into his role as a heady facilitator, but Ellis showed serious chops as a possibly more dynamic guard who can do a lot more beyond his position’s qualifications and common niche.
