3 Rookies the Indiana Pacers likely regret not drafting after the Summer League
The Indiana Pacers should have snatched Darius Days after a solid Summer League stint
Following the trend of undrafted forwards, Darius Days also trumped his lack of a draft standing and turned in a very good Summer League campaign with San Antonio, eventually earning a two-way contract with the Miami Heat.
In just 21.8 minutes, the LSU product averaged a double-double, logging 13.7 points and 10 boards per contest. Even better, he showcased his growing three-point acumen, draining a couple of treys per game at an above-average 37.5 percent clip.
Definitely a move to soften the departure of PJ Tucker, the Heat did great pursuing Days, who touts a similar playstyle. Unfortunately, the combo forward would have been a wonderful prospect for the Pacers, as the team badly needs some bulk in the forward positions, as well as a reliable three-point presence.
