The Indiana Pacers have a large number of young players on this season’s roster as it currently stands. Most of the team played in this year’s summer league, and as the pre-season approaches, there are a handful of players I am most excited to watch for this upcoming season.

Tyrese Haliburton, Chris Duarte, and Bennedict Mathurin could change the outlook of the Indiana Pacers’ future

Tyrese Haliburton feels like a give-me answer here, but it is factual. How can you not be excited about what this guy brings to the franchise?

After being traded from the Sacramento Kings at the trade deadline Haliburton only played in just over 20 games in his new city. In those 21 games, he averaged 17.5 points a game and dished out 9.6 assists while shooting 41.6% from behind the arc.

There is no questioning his ability to distribute to others, but the exciting part is now we get an entire season of games to watch him command this offense. He will have endless opportunities to showcase his leadership in challenging moments and build relationships with teammates.

Currently, with Myles Turner on the roster, there is a relationship that hasn’t been explored on the court. Turner missed the back end of the 2021-22 season when Haliburton became a member of the team, and their time did not overlap. Seeing how that duo gels on the court will be interesting because maybe Haliburton can aid the utilization of Turner in a way that was previously much harder.
