The Indiana Pacers have become more active in trade talks around the league as they gear up for the NBA draft. Malcolm Brogdon’s name seems to be getting thrown around a lot in those trade talks.

Malcolm Brogdon could be parting ways with the Indiana Pacers before the NBA draft is over.

Adrian Wojnarowski says the most active teams in trade talks right now are the Pacers, Kings, and Wizards. The Pacers being active in talks makes a ton of sense and backs up the Front Office and its comments from after their position was solidified from the draft lottery.

In a dream world, I think the Pacers should keep their 6th overall pick and try to make a trade for another later lottery pick by moving an asset like Brogdon. When I hear the Wizards among the teams active in trade talks, I can’t help but imagine the Pacers trying to send them a point guard in return for that extra lottery pick.

"“I think there will be some other deals between now and the draft. Malcolm Brogdon I think is going to move to somebody…(Kings) traded Tyrese Haliburton last year who had been their number one pick two years ago. They’ve had success in selecting point guards”, Woj said."

The situation where the Pacers have two lottery picks and get to keep assets such as pick No. 31 and the Cleveland first-round pick from the Caris LeVert trade is a good one to be in. Who is to say they don’t try and package that 31st pick and a player like Goga Bitadze or the future first?

That is one way to rebuild a team quickly. Indiana can hypothetically come out of the draft with three first-round picks and keep Myles Turner if they so choose? Sign me up!

With the injury history and age of Brogdon (29), it is no secret that Brogdon doesn’t line up with the direction of the Indiana Pacers team. Fans think the Pacers being “aggressive is moving up to four from the Kings, but I think aggressive is them getting as many first-round picks as possible. Not to say that having the fourth pick is bad, but in my opinion, more picks are the way to go.

Malcolm Brogdon is not in great need, with the addition of Tyrese Haliburton, it is clear that the team wants to shift towards the future. I would not be surprised if Brogdon is traded before the draft and believe it is more likely than not that he is to be moved before the draft is over.
