2. The Indiana Pacers’ need for TJ McConnell has taken a huge hit

TJ McConnell has been a crucial player for the Indiana Pacers in recent seasons, primarily serving as their preferred spark plug off the bench. However, the moves made by the front office recently has all but ensured that their need for the heady playmaker has taken taken a hit.

With Tyrese Haliburton, Malcolm Brogdon (…), and Duane Washington Jr. tabbed to remain key players for the team next season, McConnell’s role could exponentially shrink. Even more, he still has a lot of years remaining on his contract, making him quite of a financial limiter for the Pacers in the immediate future.

Should the Pacers make him available (and they should), McConnell should still have some suitors. His recent injury may put off some potential bidders, but his relatively clean bill of health and two-way acumen as a reliable floor general should entice those in need of a boost in the point guard position.
