Target No. 2 for the Indiana Pacers with the 31st pick in the 2022 NBA Draft

Christian Koloko | C | Arizona | 7’1” | 230 LBS

The Indiana Pacers have an uncertain big man rotation for next season outside of their projected starters in Isaiah Jackson and Myles Turner, which could look even bleaker considering both players’ injury track record.

Thus, it could be in their best interests to pick a big man with their other selection in the upcoming NBA Draft. If so, Arizona’s Christian Koloko makes sense for their 31st pick. Despite his towering physique, he is a finesse kind of player who uses his good motor to defend and crash the boards. Oh, and he is a very good shot blocker, giving the Pacers a bona fide rim protector aside from Turner.

On the offensive end, the Cameroon native can create for himself adequately in the post and sneak in interior passes with precision. He can be too passive at times and settle as a post outlet instead of a release valve, but can be deliberate with his finishing touch at the rim. Even in the big league, few centers have Koloko’s combination of size, athleticism, and IQ. Should he remain up for grabs, the Pacers should jump in on the chance of nabbing the big man with the 31st pick.
