Pacers vs Clippers Prediction
The reeling Pacers have been struggling on defense of late. Over the last 15 games, Indiana has the second-worst defensive rating and fourth-worst net rating in the league. That’s helped four straight games (and six of the last eight) go over the total, including a 133-139 loss to the Clippers two weeks ago.
Los Angeles, for their part, is quietly on a nice run. They’ve covered the spread in four straight games, winning three of them outright as underdogs. In fact, the Clippers have a top-10 net rating in the NBA over their last five games. I like that streak to continue against a Pacers team going in the opposite direction.
With so much turmoil and uncertainty around the Pacers this season as they’ve considered trading away key pieces, they are a fade for me as favorites. They are only 2-5 against the spread in their last seven games as favorites, losing four of those outright. The offense has done its part, but the leaky defense has been a major issue all season.
I show value on both the Clippers +2.5 (-110) and the over 221.5 (-110). The over is 5-1 in the Pacers’ last six games as favorites and we just saw these teams combine for 272 points. I expect their defense to continue to be an issue, but as bettors we can profit from it.
