Despite averting a seemingly catastrophic stretch with a bounce back win over the Pelicans on Saturday, the Indiana Pacers will face another tough challenge on Monday night, as they will face the much improved and red-hot Chicago Bulls on the road for the first time this season.

After landing DeMar DeRozan and Lonzo Ball in free agency, Chicago has been one of the best teams in the East so far, and arguably the best in the Central Division at this juncture with defending champs and projected division leader Milwaukee having a slow start. Meanwhile, the Pacers hope that they can break their cold spell on the road with an upset over the Bulls.

On the season, the Pacers are a measly 2-9 on the road and 3-9 against the East while the Bulls are 6-2 at home and 6-3 against the East, owning the best record in the conference overall (tied with the Nets). Indiana ranks 16th in offensive rating and 16th in defensive rating while Chicago sits at seventh and ninth, respectively, in the same departments.

Indiana Pacers vs Chicago Bulls Prediction

The Indiana Pacers have simply been erratic last week, and aside from their expected win over the New Orleans Pelicans, they have no encouraging signs at all from their recent games. Meanwhile, the Chicago Bulls have been consistently playing well, coming off an impressive 4-2 stretch against Western Conference opponents.

Both teams play wildly different styles, but the Bulls simply have the firepower in Zach LaVine and DeRozan to pull away from the Pacers if they make it a tight game. Ultimately, I see Chicago prevailing in a relatively close contest, largely due to Indiana’s road woes.
