Coming off their best win of the season after upsetting the Utah Jazz on the road on the second night of a back-to-back to cap off their Western Conference road trip, the Indiana Pacers briefly head home for their first matchup against the Philadelphia 76ers this season.

While the 76ers are heavily shorthanded, missing the services of their big three in Joel Embiid, Tobias Harris, and of course, Ben Simmons, including defensive ace Matisse Thybulle, the Pacers cannot rest easy, especially after they embarrassingly fumbled the bag against a similarly shorthanded Nuggets squad last Wednesday. Philly has been struggling lately, losing three straight, but their offense remains the highest-rated in the league.

On the season, the Pacers are 2-6 on the road and 2-6 against the East while the Sixers are a perfect 4-4 at home and 5-5 against the East.

Pacers Injury Report

After missing the last two games with back soreness, Caris LeVert remains questionable against the 76ers. Isaiah Jackson (left knee) will be a game-time decision while TJ Warren (left foot) will remain out. No other players are in the injury report.

Indiana Pacers vs Philadelphia 76ers Prediction

While Philadelphia’s offense has been surprisingly excellent to start the campaign, Indiana’s much-improved defense lately should be able to limit their perimeter-heavy attack sans Embiid. On the flip side, the 76ers’ 23rd-ranked defense will be vulnerable to the Pacers’ offense, especially if Malcolm Brogdon, Myles Turner, and TJ McConnell continue their hot streak, Caris LeVert comes back from injury, and Chris Duarte and Domantas Sabonis return to form.

Overall, I expect the Pacers to come out with the victory for their fourth home win of the season. The Sixers’ remaining guns are far from unguardable and their meager defense so far ensures that the narrative in Denver, where the Nuggets won in a slugfest, is unlikely to recur.
