Isaiah Jackson is another promising rookie for the Indiana Pacers

When the Pacers selected Isaiah Jackson, there was some confusion as to where he would fit given the surplus of bigs that are already expected to be in the rotation. Still, the former Kentucky forward made a name for himself in the Summer League and has caught the eye of head coach Rick Carlisle.

Jackson is a hound defensively and has the athleticism to be a star on that end of the floor. He is also a solid shooter and scoring threat on the other end, making for an exciting future if he is used properly.

I will be focused on Jackson during the preseason to get more of a feel for how the coaching staff plans to use him during his first season. His ability to play either as a forward or a center will help earn him minutes off the bench regardless of what the team does with Goga Bitadze. His role may be limited but Isaiah Jackson is going to have an impact.

Perhaps we will see some stretches of Jackson with the other starting bigs to get a better sense of how they work together. Jackson and Turner would be a deadly defensive duo while he and Sabonis could be a dynamic one-two punch on the glass.
