The Indiana Pacers will be led by a new set of coaching staff next season. Headed by veteran head coach Rick Carlisle, who’s back for his third stint with the franchise after a lengthy Dallas stint which saw him win a championship in 2010, the Blue and Gold will have a strong voice manning the sidelines who can certainly raise their ceiling in the upcoming campaign.

After a dismal year, the Pacers turned to a familiar face to help anchor them away from what has been an uncharacteristically turbulent campaign in the previous season. Nate Bjorkgren, who was the team’s new hire last year after parting with Nate McMillan, made a bevy of questionable moves that eventually culminated in a lottery finish and a culture aberration.

Rick Carlisle could lead the Indiana Pacers to new heights next season

Coaching is essential in the NBA, and while his predecessor wasn’t necessarily lacking in talent as a coach, Rick Carlisle can be banked on to avoid mistakes from last season. Under Bjorkgren, Indiana played like a cast of misfits, prioritizing scheme over fit that oftentimes led to constant instability and obviously, a lot of losing.

Weathering decisions in the rotation is pivotal and may just be the difference between losing a bunch and winning a many. As the Indiana Pacers try to climb the Eastern Conference’s lofty ladder, coach Carlisle must avoid these 3 rotation mistakes next season.
