Indiana Pacers: 4 teams to avoid in a Myles Turner deal
Despite a perfect fit, the LA Clippers don’t have a way to sweeten the pot in a trade for Indiana Pacers’ Myles Turner
Like the Celtics, the LA Clippers would also present a perfect fit for Myles Turner. While aiding an interconference team does not directly weaken the Indiana Pacers, their possible returns salary-wise are not attractive options at all for the team.
Certainly, a combination of Patrick Beverley, Luke Kennard and Ivica Zubac will be the Clips’ best offer to field. Marcus Morris also makes sense, but they value him too much with his sharpshooting and reliable defense to even dangle him in a trade. The ultimate downside is that they also don’t have any first-round pick in the near future to sweeten the deal.
If Marcus Smart would be an overlap with the team’s backcourt pieces, then Beverley won’t be much better, especially with his lack of shot creation and playmaking and exhaustive injury record. The same goes for Kennard, who’s basically an overpaid one-trick pony at this point. Zubac is good, but with Domantas Sabonis at the helm, he would only be relegated to bench duty, a role already manned by Bitadze.
