Indiana Pacers: 5 worthy NBA Draft gambles in the second round
The Indiana Pacers should take on Vrenz Bleijenbergh and his unique skillset
The second round of the NBA Draft is usually tackled from the high-risk, high-upside perspective. The 2021 draft class will not be different, and the Indiana Pacers would be logical to take a flyer on a project who can later turn out to be a big-time contributor on the team.
If so, then there is no better prospect to get than Vrenz Bleijenbergh. An incredibly rare 6’11 guard/wing, his tremendous upside is rare to find at this point in the draft. Heck, he may even shock many and turn out to be a late first-rounder. However, I personally wish that he slides to the Pacers’ hands in the late second round.
The Belgian prospect is defined more than his unorthodox physical tools for his position. His smart passing game, proficiency as a pick and roll initiator, shooting and overall versatility should be more than enough to select Bleijenbergh at any point in the second round.
