Much of the attention in offseason talks around the league has been on the upcoming NBA Draft  and the smoke-filled trade market, where a bunch of stars around the association are deemed gettable. The free agency class of 2021, which is quite stale compared to previous years, is not seen as a game-changing route to make overnight contenders, especially for hard-capped teams like the Indiana Pacers.

However, despite the free agent market shoed in as too top heavy and headlined by All-Stars who are mostly projected to remain with their current teams, a lot of quality role players will be on the board. The Pacers, who are fresh off a season which saw them snap a five-year postseason streak, should be aggressive in installing new pieces on the team’s motherboard for next season.

Overpaying is far from an Indy tradition, but to get the best pieces to complement the team’s core, offering a more lucrative deal above market value is usually enough to snag a great role player or two. Thus, here are four free agent role players that are worth overpaying for.
