Indiana Pacers: One trade with every Central Division team
Pat Connaughton gives the Indiana Pacers an experienced utility guard
Pat Connaughton has been a Mike Budenholzer favorite for the Milwaukee Bucks since 2018, serving as the team’s de facto sixth or seventh man on a nightly basis. While his numbers are modest, logging only 6.8 points per game this season on 22.8 minutes per contest, there’s more than meets the eye with his impact on the team.
One of the Bucks’ go-to 3-and-D guys, Connaughton has a reliable 37.1 percent three-point stroke which pairs well with his toughness and versatility as a defender. For the Indiana Pacers, he should be a welcome addition for the veteran-favoring Rick Carlisle as an all-around utility bench piece.
In turn, Aaron Holiday, who’s been plagued by inconsistencies left and right with the Pacers last season and is losing court time to the team’s other young studs, should thrive in Milwaukee as a scoring guard who can backup Jrue Holiday, his older brother, especially with the Bucks’ lack of reliable playmakers on the second unit.
