The Indiana Pacers will massively benefit from Danny Green’s 3-and-D skillset

Danny Green is a winner in every sense of the word. While he has always been a designated role player, the 12-year marksman carved out significant roles in championship-winning teams, winning three titles with as many teams in San Antonio, Toronto and Los Angeles.

Alas, with Philadelphia this season, Green was not far from adding a fourth ring to his name. Before going down with an injury, the 3-and-D adept tallied 9.5 points per game on 40.5 percent shooting from three-point land on a career-high 6.3 attempts per outing. Clearly, the swingman can still contribute on a high level, especially with his three-point stroke and excellent defense preserving him as one of the league’s better role players.

The Indiana Pacers should aggressively pursue him this offseason. It remains to be known if he would be willing to take less money to join a contender, which the team is currently not, but the front office can take advantage of this and entice him with a multi-year contract worth the MLE. His consistent two-way ability and veteran voice would be a wonderful fit on the roster.
