NBA Mock Draft 8th Pick: Orlando Magic (via Chicago Bulls)

Yet another wave of rebuilding is on full throttle for the Orlando Magic. However, settling for what they currently have on the backcourt to build around for the future would be an overestimation of their potential.

Markelle Fultz is coming off a major injury and even so, his potential is largely hampered by his inability to shoot reliably from the perimeter. Cole Anthony is a budding two-way guard, but he doesn’t look like a franchise centerpiece, especially with his struggles as a playmaker and his inefficient shooting from all over the court.

Davion Mitchell should be high on Orlando’s radar. He’s a point guard, but he can also slide in as a shooting guard with his explosive first step, shooting ability and penchant for shooting in traffic. His passing and ball handling are above average for his age and most importantly, his defense is ahead of most players on the Magic roster.
