Jeff Teague’s decline makes a reunion with the Indiana Pacers a trivial one

Former Indiana Pacers point guard Jeff Teague is on a sharp decline from his peak as one of the league’s most reliable and speediest playmakers for a good chunk of the previous decade. The twilight of his 12-year career arrived much earlier than expected.

Just two seasons ago, he was the chief floor general of the Minnesota Timberwolves. Since then, his career trajectory just went down. Initially, it was because of injuries, but stints with the Boston Celtics and the Milwaukee Bucks in the season showed that his decline is gaining noticeable traction.

If this was even a season ago, I would’ve pegged Jeff Teague as a perfect fallback option for McConnell, but his decline as a playmaker while being a streaky shooter and finisher makes a reunion with the Blue and Gold not an ideal route for both parties.
