Indiana Pacers free target from the Lakers: Talen Horton-Tucker

Sophomore Talen Horton-Tucker managed to live up to the hype of Hollywood as a key role player for the Lakers this season. Averaging nine points per game in 20.1 minutes per contest as a spark plug off the bench, the 20-year-old is an intriguing prospect whose potential is yet to be determined.

He’s not much of a marksman, but his driving game is already top-notch, shooting 63.9 percent at the rim, a great figure for a 6’4 player. Despite being a guard, a majority of his shots came from within 3 feet. Also, he is a bulldog on defense and is great at using his physique to disrupt perimeter players and hold his own against post mismatches.

THT won’t be cheap, but any team will be hard-pressed to reckon him easily as a six-figure player. The Indiana Pacers should want him, but the only actual way to secure the bag with him is to overpay him slightly above his market value to prevent the Lakers from matching offers, especially with LA never one to shy away from luxury territory.

Also, if this materializes, then the chances of Doug McDermott staying in the Circle City will drastically drop. But hey, there’s so much more to unlock with THT’s game and that alone demands some merits, especially with his play this season.
