Player most unlikely to return to the Indiana Pacers: Amida Brimah
If I have to bet on a player who will not be back with the Indiana Pacers next season, then my money’s on Amida Brimah. Signed late in the season for some insurance given Myles Turner’s injury that sidelined him indefinitely, his stint with the Blue and Gold, which was actually his first crack at the NBA, was forgettable, only registering a grand total of 29 minutes in five appearances this season.
It’s unfair to judge him on the basis of such small sample size, but it’s very easy to see why he won’t don the Blue and Gold next year. With the Pacers projected to trot out a healthy lineup next season, at least in the beginning, there’s literally no reason to have him back with Turner, Domantas Sabonis and Goga Bitadze all ready to go, and hat doesn’t even include some possible additions through the draft or free agency.
Hopefully, Brimah can get another crack at the NBA in the years to come. But in the present, the Indiana Pacers probably won’t be the team that takes a flyer on the 27-year-old.
