The Indiana Pacers welcome back a hero from the not-so-distant past

In this proposed trade, the Indiana Pacers will send veteran Jeremy Lamb, guards Aaron Holiday and Kelan Martin and their 2021 2nd-round pick from Milwaukee to the Chicago Bulls for former Pacer and 14-year cog Thaddeus Young and guard Ryan Arcidiacono. Matching the salaries work just fine, but the Bulls need to fully guarantee his salary for 2021-22, which stands at 14.2 million, of which only six million is assured.

With the Bull already firm on the frontcourt with All-Star Nikola Vucevic and rookie Patrick Williams having shown tremendous upside in his first year, their club may be keen on accruing some assets for the veteran, who has shown that he still has plenty of tank left. Another things that works in the Pacers’ favor is the familiarity of Young to Indiana, where he played three seasons from 2016 to 2019.
