Indiana Pacers season review: Grading Malcolm Brogdon
By Luke Parrish
Grading Malcolm Brogdon’s season with the Indiana Pacers
While his absence was a huge blow to the team, it should not be the main takeaway from his season. He had his moments as a focal point of this team’s future but maybe not enough to convince everyone that he should be the starting point guard moving forward.
The muddiness of his pairing with LeVert will make for an interesting offseason plan but nonetheless, Brogdon was excellent when he was capable of suiting up. He was in the running for an All-Star appearance in the first month of the season before slowly falling out of that mix.
Malcolm Brogdon shined at points this season but he also had his fair share of putrid nights. He did not quite elevate the team to the same level as Domantas Sabonis, who was the key piece for Indiana each night.
Final grade: B
Injuries did play a factor in his grade because they shut down pretty much all hope at the end of the season. The not-so-rare poor shooting nights that watched Brogdon shoot 5-of-22 were much more of a letdown than he intended. I will be very interested to see if he returns and in what capacity next season.
