Let’s take a look at Domantas Sabonis as the 2020-21 Indiana Pacers season has officially come to an end.

The Indiana Pacers had a rough season that ended in the same fashion, a blowout loss to the Washington Wizards in the Play-in Tournament. Before we can dive into the offseason plans, we need to first look back at last season and understand the current state of the roster.

Domantas Sabonis was the best player for the Indiana Pacers when he was on the floor last season. That was expected from the jump but he was aided by numerous injuries and poor stretches from his teammates that helped elevate his importance to the starting five. He set records and represented the Pacers in his second All-Star Game.

Sabonis was incredible in 2020-21. Every night was another opportunity for him to stand out as one of the premier offensive bigs in the NBA. Domas was always in the hunt for a triple-double while dominating on the glass and as a facilitator.

There was a wide debate between Pacers fans regarding the value of Sabonis’ offense compared to Myles Turner‘s defense, which is fair to question, but it often took away from the enjoyment of watching both of them at the same time.

We have no clue what the roster will look like next year, especially considering how disappointing the Pacers were this past season. In order to shape the roster, the front office needs to take its time to develop the roster that they believe can be competitive. Domantas Sabonis will be a crucial evaluation in that process.

How was Sabonis’ season as a whole?
