Indiana Pacers 2021-22 Starting PG: Caris LeVert

Yes, you read that right. Caris LeVert will be the starting point guard for the Indiana Pacers next season. While he has mostly played as shooting guard for his career, his skills as a playmaker have blossomed as the primary perimeter option for the Navy and Gold.

In fact, as the main playmaker in the month of May when Malcolm Brogdon was injured, LeVert averaged 7.4 assists per game, a number that is certainly better than the former’s 5.9 dimes per outing for the season.

Moving LeVert to the point guard position will do wonders for the team. He’s much better with the ball anyway, and handling primary playmaking duties will give him a big window to explode as a scorer and facilitator. We haven’t seen Caris at his best yet and even with that, he’s been a 20-point, 7-assist guy for the most part.

Malcolm Brogdon is a borderline All-Star, but Caris LeVert at his best is an All-Star. One of the changes that may happen for the Indiana Pacers this offseason is the possibility of trading Brogdon, and given the team’s needs, bet on it happening.
