Sabonis sets Indiana Pacers record for triple-doubles

The one steady piece for the Pacers this season has been Domantas Sabonis. He earned an All-Star appearance as a replacement for Kevin Durant but he was certainly in the running to be named an All-Star originally. He carried the Pacers on offense most nights, especially while LeVert was out of the lineup.

His contributions on that end led him to his seventh triple-double with the team, giving him the franchise record over Detlef Schrempf. He has continued to add to his total this season, up to 11 on his career.

On a February night against the Wolves, Sabonis took over and propelled the Pacers to an overtime win. He finished that contest with 36 points, 16 rebounds, and 10 assists while shooting 13-of-21 from the field.

That game also featured a couple of career highs for Sabonis. His 36 points that night are a career-best while his 46 minutes have also never been topped. The Pacers needed every last effort from Domas just to get a win over a struggling Wolves team and he delivered in a major way.

His performance that night is what the Pacers have to love and expect in the future as he only gets better. He can be a dominant offensive player when he wants to be but the Pacers have to find the right pieces to put around him if they want to make him the centerpiece of the future.
