Caris LeVert debuts for the Indiana Pacers

The Pacers traded Victor Oladipo for Caris LeVert early in the season but were met with the sudden news of the mass on LeVert’s kidney. I do not want to keep harping on his situation as it’s been the main story of his season but seeing Caris overcome his medical condition and return to the floor this season was a major win for him.

On March 13, roughly two months after the trade was announced, Caris made his debut for the Pacers against the Suns. Not only did Caris return to action, but he was also slid into the starting lineup and scored 13 points in 26 minutes.

It took a few weeks for LeVert to get back into game shape but the first night back out there was so much fun as a fan of his and the Pacers. We have seen Caris become the guy offensively over the final few weeks of the season. Just two months ago, we were not sure he would even suit up for the Pacers this season.

His health is the most important thing. A genuinely great man was able to overcome a scary medical situation and keep himself composed over a long absence. Now, he looks to be the real deal on a team that needs someone who can take over.

That win over the Suns will always stand out as a key moment in Caris’ career.
