Indiana Pacers: 3 players that shined in the 2020-21 season
By Luke Parrish
Caris LeVert was incredible for the Indiana Pacers
His arrival to Indiana was a bit of a long process but once Caris LeVert settled in, he became arguably the best scorer on the team. He finished his Pacers season averaging a career-high in points after scoring 18.5 per game for the Nets in his first 12 games.
LeVert dropped 30 or more points on five separate occasions for the Pacers this season including two such performances against the Washington Wizards. Not all of his outing ended well as he struggled at times to find consistency in his shot but Caris was phenomenal as the primary scoring option this season.
With injuries to Domantas Sabonis and Malcolm Brogdon slowing down the offense toward the end of the season, LeVert stepped up and took control of the offense. Given he wasn’t even expected to play the rest of the season after his medical scare, Caris’ play is a bonus for himself and his fans.
He became a go-to scorer at the end of games and one of the only reliable starters once he returned to action. If any Pacer is locked into the roster for next season, my money is on Caris to be the safest choice to return.
It’s always good to have a player that can get buckets whenever you need one and Caris LeVert seems to be that guy for the Pacers. He managed to do just fine whether Brogdon was next to him or not.
