Indiana Pacers: 3 players that shined in the 2020-21 season
By Luke Parrish
Which members of the Indiana Pacers kept things interesting this season?
This season was one to forget for the Indiana Pacers but there were some bright spots along the way. Some exciting moments filled an otherwise disappointing season with enough hope and enjoyment to get us by. On top of just some key moments, some players stood out above their peers and did their best to make this team competitive.
Indiana got off to a hot start and had an All-Star in Domantas Sabonis while also having an early Defensive Player of the Year candidate in Myles Turner. Injuries opened the door for some depth guys to fill in when given the opportunity, which worked out quite well for the Pacers.
A play-in appearance is not what the Pacers strived for when the season opened up but given all of the injuries and adversity that this team faced, a shot to still sneak into the playoffs is impressive.
I’ll be honest, my expectations for this team were much higher than the final result. The early loss of T.J. Warren, who I slated as the team’s MVP before the season started, put a dent in things from the jump. Although, his absence might have proven just how valuable Warren is to this team as a scoring threat on the wing.
Three players, in particular, helped lead the Pacers into the elimination games with their play this season, especially over the past two months or so.
