Goga Bitadze’s box of surprises will serve the Indiana Pacers well

While the second-year player may be known more by others as someone who jawed with his assistant coach, make no mistake but Goga Bitadze has peen a pleasant embodiment of a Pandora’s box this season for the Indiana Pacers. You don’t know what you’re getting from the 21-year-old, but trust that whatever it is, it will eventually end up helping the team down the road.

Be it in abrupt three-point shots despite his meager 25 percent conversion rate, his widely effective shot-blocking at 1.3 per outing in only 12.5 minutes per game or his conniving mobility, Goga can certainly make an impact on the floor even in short spurts. But even so, don’t bet your money on opponent scouting reports marking his name with an underline or two.

Goga Bitadze’s stature as a relative unknown arms the Indiana Pacers with a secret weapon of their own in the frontcourt. With Myles Turner injured, he will be key to anchoring the Navy and Gold’s defense when the starters take a breather. He can also be a great stretch five when needed notwithstanding his paltry percentages. Remember Atlanta’s Pero Antic in 2014? He can certainly be better than that.
