Injuries have shown up all over the NBA this season and the Indiana Pacers have been right there at the top. T.J. Warren was lost before his season really even got going and countless minor injuries have derailed a once-promising season. Now, Myles Turner is set to be out for the foreseeable future.

Turner, who has missed a lot of time over the past two weeks, is now out indefinitely with a toe injury. According to Shams, Turner has a partial tear in the plantar plate of his toe and will be out indefinitely, which does not bode well for the team’s near future.

Myles Turner will miss some time for the Indiana Pacers

While Turner has not been perfect this season, his impact has been felt when he’s absent. The Pacers currently lack any and all defense but Myles was the lone bright spot on that end of the floor. Without him, Indiana will need to put up quite a few more points if they intend on competing in any of their upcoming games.

Domantas Sabonis will get the chance to shine as the lone center in the lineup, which will give the Pacers a look at a future without the two-big lineup. Domas, who has been excellent this season, will have to prove he can handle the defensive duties of a center in Myles’ absence.

The Pacers are losing a vital piece but have done okay at times this season with Turner out of the lineup. They recently went on a nice stretch, winning four of six games while he was out with a sprained ankle. Maybe they can make it work for the rest of the season, but the expectations should certainly be tempered.

Goga Bitadze and Domantas Sabonis have a lot to prove now that Turner is out. His injury also opens the door for Oshae Brissett to hit the floor after a strong showing in his first real action with the team.

With just a month left in the season, is this the last we’ve seen of Myles Turner in a Pacers uniform?
