With several starters out for the Indiana Pacers once again, the healthy guys stepped up and showed how to balance things out. Domantas Sabonis and Malcolm Brogdon were out of the lineup against the Spurts but the Pacers found a way to win.

The bench was stellar with each of the five players finishing the night at +15 or better. The starters, on the other hand, were all in the negative but still played well enough to get the win. Scoring was spread out and the Pacers had the strength to pull out the win in overtime.

Caris LeVert was able to knock down his shots again after a long week and carried the load offensively, scoring 26 points and adding nine assists. Myles Turner added 18 points of his own while also being a menace on the other end. All five starters scored in double figures and four of the five starters shot at least 50 percent from the field.

The rise of Edmond Sumner has been incredibly fun to watch. His hot streak continued on Saturday as he finished with 15 points, six rebounds, and three assists. His energy has been awesome to see and it was a huge factor in the win.

T.J. McConnell played 34 minutes off the bench and scored 18 points with eight assists and seven rebounds. Aaron Holiday, who was called on in place of some of Brogdon’s minutes, also had 18 points and shot 7-of-11 from the field. He also knocked down three of his five attempts from beyond the arc.

Goga Bitadze was solid once again in his case for more playing time, scoring eight points with seven rebounds. If Sabonis is forced to miss any extended time, Goga should be perfectly fine in handling a larger role.

We even got to see some Kelan Martin and JaKarr Sampson minutes on Saturday as the Pacers searched for depth. Martin knocked 3-of-4 attempts from three and Sampson gave the frontcourt some help with four rebounds and seven points.

This was also a chance for Indiana to see what things would look like without Sabonis in case they plan to move either him or Turner this offseason. Either way, it was nice to see the Pacers play as a unit when they had their backs against the wall. They need to build some more momentum if they want to compete in the playoffs this season.
