Jeremy Lamb made his season debut last night after suffering a terrible knee injury last season. Lamb’s return came at an important time for the Indiana Pacers. With injuries flooding the roster, Lamb provides much-needed depth on the wing and off the bench.

The past few weeks have been tough health-wise for the Indiana Pacers. T.J. Warren and newly acquired Indiana Pacer Caris LeVert are both out indefinitely. Myles Turner has an avulsion fracture in his right hand that has sidelined him for the past two games and is set on a day to day status, which is better than a week to week basis as we see in most situations with that injury.

Jeremy Lamb makes season debut for the Indiana Pacers

Last night the Indiana Pacers were blessed with some great health news. Jeremy Lamb made his season debut for the Blue and Gold. This was the first action Lamb had seen since injuring his knee last season resulting in him missing 11 months. Jeremy Lamb averaged 12.5 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 1.2 steals per game in 46 games last season before his injury. He is a sight for sore eyes as the Pacers’ thin roster is in need of some firepower.

Jeremy Lamb played a tad shy of twenty minutes last night and looked really good in his debut. He put together a solid first half, playing ten minutes and recording 10 points on 4-4 shooting from the field. He also added two rebounds and a steal. Lamb had a much quieter second half as he went 0-4 shooting, but added a steal. An interesting note is that Lamb finished with the highest plus/minus on the team with a plus 10.

Lamb athletically looked solid last night. The first points he scored are the perfect example of where he is at. He attacks the basket from the top of the key and euro steps through contact from Jalen Green to finish an and-1 opportunity. Granted it was his first game back so the rust will be there but with that being said Lamb looked very solid.

It’s great to see Jeremy Lamb back on the court for the Pacers. He comes back at a time where the Pacers need a little bit more firepower as three of their five starters are out with injury. Lamb is most likely on a minutes restriction, limiting how often we will see him in games and back-to-backs, but any time Lamb is on the court it will be a positive for the Pacers. The Pacers are back in action Friday against the Orlando Magic and it will be interesting to see how Lamb continues to work his way into the rotation.
