Grades for the starting lineup

A. Malcolm Brogdon was one of the lone consistent bright spots for the Pacers in this one. He was very active on both ends of the floor, causing turnovers that resulted in points for the good guys. Brogdon knocked down a couple of early threes that got his feet wet and he continued to show his trust in Sabonis near the basket. He filled the stat sheet and led the backcourt just as we all expected.. G. Indiana Pacers. MALCOLM BROGDON

A-. Vic was back to his old self, even if only for a brief moment in a meaningless game. This was the best he has looked since his injury, which provides a beacon of hope for the Pacers as they settle into the new season with the drama surrounding the former All-Star. He was active on the defensive end, coming up with steals and deflections. He also attacked the basket with conviction. The only concern with Vic at this point is his lack of conversion on his jump shots.. G. Indiana Pacers. VICTOR OLADIPO

G. Indiana Pacers. AARON HOLIDAY. B. Holiday started in place of T.J. Warren, who will be shut down with a foot injury. Aaron was very involved on the offensive end, serving as the primary ball-handler on multiple occasions and setting his teammates up for success. He had a team-high four assists at the half but also had four turnovers, which was an unfortunate trend for the Pacers all night long. It will be interesting to see if he stays in the starting lineup once the regular season begins.

Similar to Aaron Holiday, Sabonis was very effective but struggled with turnovers. He also picked up two quick fouls but it did not deter him from being aggressive in the paint and on the glass. Domas posted a double-double in the first half with 14 points and 12 rebounds but added five turnovers and shot just 4-of-8 at the free-throw line. He will be the cornerstone of the team and is undoubtedly still a star but he needs to shake off the rust that comes with not playing in nearly a full calendar year.. F. Indiana Pacers. MYLES TURNER. C+. Myles was letting it fly from beyond the arc, which is all we’ve ever really wanted. looks to have a more expanded role in the new offense but his decision-making was questionable in this one. Turner made a few mistakes and struggled with his shot early on but settled in a bit in the second half. He is still adapting to a quicker pace at that end but his defensive prowess is still very much intact. If he can knock down his shots at a higher clip, this will be a huge year for the big man.. C.
