Bubble Warren was one of the best storylines from the 2019-20 NBA season.

Indiana Pacers forward T.J. Warren emerged as a potential star in the NBA with his play during the NBA’s bubble last season. As he returns for his second season in Indiana, can Warren continue his hot stretch and lead the Pacers?

Warren was a gift from the Suns last season when he was traded to Indiana for next to nothing. Now, Warren is the leading scorer and fan favorite of an exciting Pacers team heading into his second season with the club. His 31 points per game average in the seeding games was enough to get his name in the news cycle across the NBA. Now, he has to prove that he belongs in the discussion with the best scoring threats in the league.

Personally, Warren is my favorite player on the team and I have very high expectations for him this season. His ability to score at all three levels will be vital for the Pacers who really could not find a reliable scorer last season. With injuries and inconsistent play from everyone on the roster, it was hard for the offense to hit its stride.

New head coach Nate Bjorkgren comes from Toronto and has worked with Warren in the past as both spent time with the Suns. Bjorkgren’s teams in Toronto relied on several players to step up and contribute, which is very similar to Indiana’s model of late. If one player will be “the guy”, I am willing to put my money on T.J. Warren.

The 31 points per game average are not necessarily realistic, especially considering the talent around Warren. With Oladipo back at full health, he will surely get some looks on his own. Domantas Sabonis also returns after not playing in the bubble, which was a huge reason for Warren’s usage down in Orlando.

Defenses will have to account for five players who can stretch the floor and shoot when the Pacers have their starting five on the floor. Given that Indiana wants to shoot more threes, the floor will be open for Warren to drive the basket.

2020-21 will be a huge year for T.J. Warren and the Pacers as he takes on a huge role in the offense.

Next. Pacers are having fun in training camp. dark
