Indiana Pacers: Four college stars that could slide in the draft
By Luke Parrish
The Indiana Pacers currently hold the 54th overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft.
With just a second-round pick at their disposal, the Indiana Pacers will need a bit more luck to hit on their draft pick this year. The draft class is considered to be weaker than recent years but there is still some solid talent out there.
College stars, or even big-time high school recruits, slide once they declare for the NBA Draft. Here are four prospects who shined in high school and college who could fall into Indiana’s lap.
Payton Pritchard – PG (Oregon)
Payton Pritchard was a four-year stud for the Oregon Ducks. His senior season was one of the best single-season outputs in recent memory as Pritchard carried Oregon to a 24-7 record and the top overall seed in the PAC-12 tournament before it was canceled.
He averaged an astounding 20.9 points and 5.5 assists per game while knocking down 41.5 percent of his three-point attempts. Across his final three seasons, Pritchard averaged 15.7 points and converted 38.6 percent of his threes.
The Oregon guard was must-watch television every time he stepped on the floor. The Ducks were one of the most exciting teams in the nation as they prepared for the NCAA tournament in 2020. While Pritchard does not fill an immediate need for Indiana, he would bring leadership and hustle.
