The Indiana Pacers finally have an idea of the NBA timeline for the upcoming season.

The Indiana Pacers can start making plans for the next few months. The NBA has some clarity on its 2020-21 season, including important dates for the offseason being finalized.

It has been reported that the NBPA player representatives voted to approve a starting date of Dec. 22 for next season. The season will be condensed to 72 games, a decrease from the typical 82-game season. The league has not announced a schedule or expectations of when the regular season will come to an end.

One idea that was floated around this offseason was a Christmas Day tip-off. Instead, the league has decided to open up on the week of Christmas with Christmas Day games still expected to make an appearance.

That news also cleared up offseason dates as teams plan their futures. The NBA Draft will take place on Nov. 18 with free agency set to begin shortly after. The draft is just two weeks away and training camps begin at the start of December.

The NBA season is approaching in a hurry and the Pacers have a lot of work to do before they officially begin their quest for a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. The roster may look drastically different in six weeks from how it shapes up now, but that’s what makes the offseason fun.

As more news comes out regarding schedules and other key dates, we will be sure to provide updates.
