Alize Johnson led the Indiana Pacers in rebounds per 36 minutes

Alize Johnson is a bit of a fan-favorite around Indiana because of his high energy and rebounding ability. Despite spending most of his playing time with the Fort Wayne Mad Ants, Johnson makes the most of his minutes with the NBA club. He averaged a team-best 14.6 rebounds per 36 minutes last season.

Johnson appeared in 17 games for the Pacers in 2019-20 and averaged 2.8 rebounds in just 6.9 minutes per outing. He shined in the final two games of the season as the Pacers rested their rotation.

In the penultimate game of the season, Johnson recorded eight rebounds, three steals, and a block against the Houston Rockets. In the finale, he filled the box score while racking up the minutes. Johnson played 38 minutes against Miami, totaling 11 points and 17 rebounds. Seven of his 17 rebounds came on the offensive end of the floor.

His 14.6 rebounds per 36 minutes were nearly two rebounds more than runner-up Domantas Sabonis, who hauled in 12.9 per 36 minutes. While it is fair to say the Johnson played the majority of his moments against other end-of-the-bench guys, you cannot argue that he did not perform.
