Indiana Pacers: 3 surprise candidates for head coach
By Luke Parrish
Jason Kidd
Jason Kidd has had two unsuccessful stints as an NBA head coach. After compiling a 183-190 record over five seasons with the Nets and Bucks, Kidd took a job as an assistant with the Lakers in 2019.
His lack of playoff success has hurt his young coaching career but there is a belief around the league that he is ready to return to the sideline as a head coach. Recent reports suggest that he is interested in the 76ers vacancy and could be on his way back to a head coaching role soon.
I am not crazy about Jason Kidd given his performance as a head coach thus far, but I do think bringing in a former player is always on the table. Kidd would be able to take over a playoff-ready roster and would not be left trying to rebuild, which should work in his favor.
