Best Indiana Pacers Player from Georgetown: Roy Hibbert

Coming over from Toronto on draft night 2007 with Jermaine O’Neal heading north of the border, Hibbert played a key role on a number of Pacers’ playoff teams.

He was a two-time All-Star and NBA All-Defensive team honoree in 2014 while serving as a defensive stopper in the lane.

He helped guide the Pacers to back-to-back Eastern Conference Finals against the LeBron James-led Miami Heat and started every game he appeared for five consecutive seasons. For his Pacer career, Hibbert averaged 11.1 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 1.9 blocks over seven seasons but his large frame became a hindrance as the NBA game increased pace with a larger focus on the outside game.

He was traded to the Lakers after his seventh season and bounced around the league for two more seasons before exiting the league. Hibbert now serves as a player development coach for Philadelphia and their big men.

Best Indiana Pacers Player from Marquette: Travis Diener

Travis Diener saw limited action with the Orlando Magic in his first two seasons in the NBA and signed a three-year deal with the Pacers prior to the 2007-08 campaign.

He would go on to have his best season in the NBA averaging 6.9 points and dishing out 3.8 assists per game while getting the start in 21 of his 66 appearances.

He was waived in March of 2010 after playing in 125 games as a Pacer with per-game averages of 5.3 points and three assists. Diener has played the last 10 seasons in Europe which included two Italian Cup victories.
