Best Indiana Pacers Player from Maryland: Len Elmore

Young basketball fans may know Len Elmore from his many years of calling college and NBA basketball on CBS. In his younger days, Elmore enjoyed a 10-year career as an ABA and NBA big man.

Despite being drafted 13th overall in the 1973 NBA Draft, he chose to sign with the Pacers in the ABA. After a strong showing in his rookie campaign, Elmore nearly doubled all of his statistical averages the following season to 14.6 points, 10.8 rebounds, 2.3 blocks, and 1.8 steals per outing.

An injury the following season limited Elmore to just six games and he was never able to return to form. Over five seasons in Indiana, he averaged 7.6 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks per game.
