Best Indiana Pacers player from Louisville: Samaki Walker
A 2002 NBA Champion with the Lakers who averaged five points and five rebounds per game over in 445 NBA contests, Samaki Walker finished his run in the NBA with seven games for the pacers in 2005-06.
A career reserve, he scored just two points on a pair of free throws and grabbed three rebounds before being waived in January. Walker went on to play a handful of seasons in Europe and Asia after leaving the Pacers.
Best Indiana Pacers player from Miami: James Jones
James Jones played his first two seasons with the Pacers after being drafted 49th overall in the 2003 NBA Draft. He’s a player many forget played in Indianapolis.
An outside threat for most of his career, he averaged 4.7 points and 2.2 boards over 81 games in Indiana. The best game of his career came in a loss at Seattle on November 28, 2004 when he knocked down six threes en route to 27 points and six rebounds.
Jones finished his 14-year NBA career with three-consecutive NBA titles as a member of the Lebron James led “Heatles” (his hometown team) and now serves as the General Manager for the Phoenix Suns.
