Key moments from T.J. Warren’s first season with Indiana Pacers
T.J. Warren gets revenge with two-way game against Phoenix Suns
In what was Warren’s lone game of retribution against his former team, the Phoenix Suns, he and the Pacers managed to seal the 112-87 win with Warren doing it on both ends of the floor.
Offensively, Warren led the game in scoring with 25 points, doing the bulk of his damage by scoring around the rim. Shooting 11-18 from the field, Warren converted on eight buckets from inside the paint, including in the third quarter when he scored back to back layups assisted by T.J. McConnell for 8 of his 25 in the third period alone.
Warren was a force on the defensive end as well, keeping NBA All-Star guard, Devin Booker in check for different periods. Warren allowed just 4 points from Booker during the time he checked the Suns go-to player on offense.
While Warren’s box scores and defensive play against the Suns were a bonus, it was the overall victory that served as the outlining factor as Warren as spent much of his career with the Phoenix Suns, a team that has struggled to make any noise in the Western Conference playoff race.
With the win against the Suns, the Pacers had been victorious in 6 of their last 7 contests.
