Justin Holiday is a free agent this summer, and at this point, the Indiana Pacers are probably kicking themselves for not negotiating a two-year deal with him.

Holiday has had one of the best seasons relative to what was expected of him and has been a major asset to the Pacers on both ends of the floor.

As one of the most accurate 3-point shooters this season for the Pacers and a lengthy, intelligent defender, he’s slotted into a multitude of roles in Indiana depending on their needs.

Holiday’s versatility, length, and upward trend, combined with the relative affordability in terms of his contract may result in a number of teams being interested in his services.

It’s tough to nail down exactly which teams might be vying for Holiday’s services, because he’s likely going to be a final addition and finishing touch to a team’s roster rather than one of their first moves made if he leaves Indy.

His worth is likely to be set by available cap space as well, making his next contract hard to predict.

Indiana can likely re-sign him if they act quickly and offer him a contract before the rest, but here are some teams that seem like logical fits for Holiday.

Minnesota Timberwolves need defense

The Minnesota Timberwolves project to have a solid year next season. They got their guy to pair with Karl-Anthony Towns in D’Angelo Russell at the trade deadline this year.

They have a legitimately fear-inducing backcourt in Russell and Jarrett Culver. Towns is one of the most unique offensive big men in the game. The Wolves will run up the scoreboard, but struggle on the defensive end as their roster is constructed right now.

Robert Covington, one of their best defensive players this season, was traded at the deadline.

Holiday won’t be the answer to anchor their starting unit defense, but he can be a useful key in the second unit for the T’Wolves. Paired with James Johnson off the bench, the pair could anchor the defensive end and keep things afloat when Towns and Russell are off the floor.
