The Indiana Pacers seem pretty firm with their frontcourt for now, despite introductory questions about the long-term fit of Myles Turner and Domantas Sabonis. They decided not to make a deal despite rumors about Myles Turner at the trade deadline, something that seems like the right decision for now.

Utah Jazz big man Rudy Gobert could very well be on the move this summer following a tumultuous few weeks that have put him at odds with star teammate Donovan Mitchell.

The Pacers can take advantage of rumors that may fly around Gobert this summer. Without having to actually go to the bartering table they may get a feel for what teams are willing to offer in return for a player similar to Turner.

Here are some teams to monitor over the coming months with potential interest in Rudy Gobert.

OKC Thunder

The OKC Thunder have Steven Adams under contract for two more seasons, but there’s a plan that could come to fruition in which the Thunder move forward by moving Chris Paul and Steven Adams to enter the next era of their franchise built around Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

With Turner under contract for three more years on a level salary, he affords the Thunder the ability to use him as a tentpole piece.

Indiana could bring Steven Adams back in the trade, but arguably, Adams is as questionable (if not more questionable, given his inability to shoot the three) of a partner for Domantas Sabonis as Turner is, so it’d be best to find a third team to bring in here.

The Thunder have a huge stockpile of draft picks received from the Paul George trade last summer, something the Pacers should look to siphon if they engage in talks based on Turner.

The Thunder may proceed as they are built now and wait and see, but if there are temperature checks on Gobert, Indiana can call OKC to see what they think about Turner.
