What picks do the Indiana Pacers have in the NBA Draft?

The NBA Draft is a great time for all teams to add fresh new talent to its roster to develop. The Pacers, having hired Rick Carlisle as their next head coach, will need to decide if drafting young talent is in their best interest or if they should try to package some picks in deals for win-now players.

It should be an exciting 2021 NBA Draft for the Pacers, who do own a lottery pick this year that might have some marketability among teams looking to fortify their rebuild.

Below is a listing of all picks the Pacers own between their own picks and picks they’ve gathered in trades over the years. Info on picks and conditions are via RealGM.

What pick do the Indiana Pacers have in 2021?

Indiana owns their own first-round pick in the 2021 NBA Draft. They will be making a selection at the end of the lottery at 13th overall, assuming they do not trade their pick.

The Pacers do not own their second-round pick (No. 44, going to the Brooklyn Nets) in 2021, but they do own Milwaukee’s (54th overall pick) and Utah’s (60th overall pick, final pick in the draft).

Again, the Pacers have their own first-round draft pick in 2023.

The second-round draft pick is much more convoluted. The Pacers own their own second-round pick, that’s the easy part. If Houston’s pick lands at 31 or 32, Indiana receives it. Or, the Pacers receive the least favorable of the Rockets pick if it lands 33rd or lower (so 33-60), Dallas’s pick, or Miami’s.

So the earliest they can draft in the second round with another team’s pick is 31, but they could drop all the way to 60, too. That said, they’ll also have their own second-round pick in 2023 and could even consider seeking a deal where they package both seconds to move up in the draft for a particular player.
